Aquarium and Opera House

June 29th, 2014

Sonia and I were off to the Aquarium in the morning. We found a few interesting pieces of artwork along the way.

When we arrived we found out that the dugongs were on holiday due to the construction around the aquarium. That was disappointing, but I soon forgot about that at the first exhibit... PLATYPUS!!!

It was not what I was expecting the  sea cucumber to feel like

After the aquarium we were on our way to Circular Quay. We found the ally with bird cages.

Just before we got to the Harbour we stopped for lunch and had charcoal burgers and deep fried pickles.

We still had some time before our harbour tour so we headed for more hot chocolate and warmth.

I admittedly I had not seen Crocodile Dundee, so I didn't recognise him but I will have to watch them now!

Then it was off to our boat tour. It was very chilly, but still beautiful!

We quickly walked over to the Opera House to get into a tour. Our guide was great! He gave us a hard time from being from the Melbourne area too. It was amazing to be inside the theatres. There have been various types of shows in these theatres. There has been rock concerts, sumo wrestling, and all the normal activities too.

Best Seats in the House

On the way back to the hostel we stopped at the Winter festival again to take pictures.

We also found a panel that allowed you to "paint" the building across the street. We played on that for a little bit!

Then we made our way back through China Town picking up dessert for after dinner.

Mango Wine, a mango pancake, and a chocolate carmel torte topped off the exciting day!
