Well this week has not been particularly great. We have been receiving our marks back for our first assignments. Let's just say it was shocking. Our group assignments were good for Australian standards but it was nothing like back home. I have been working on my individuals assignments all week and trying to fit in some time to relax a little. Wednesday night I needed to blow off some steam... it was resi soccer night so that seemed like the perfect activity.
The "organuptors" (combination of our dorm mascots orangutans and raptors) got second place. Afterwards, we headed to the Sub for $5 all you can eat pizza and DUSA music night. I was pushed into performing a song. Venessa and I sang some disney then I sang the US national anthem because it is about the only song I don't have to think about the tune or the words anymore. It was nice to step away from the computer and school for a few hours.
Today was mostly classes and homework. Towards the end of the afternoon I got a text from Bucket asking me if I wanted to go surfing. I almost said no, but Evan convinced me I needed a break. So I went. It was a much needed remedy to my pent up frustration about school. Being in the water just lets me tune the world out and just enjoy life. It was kind of a flat day today, and of course when I got out because I couldn't feel my toes that is when the waves started consistently rolling in. I caught a few good ones though. I wasn't able to stand up all the way, but it was still fun. Now I have the bug and want to go everyday! Here are a few pictures Alix took when I was coming back to shore.
I ate dinner with my housemates and then continued to study and work on homework.
Isn't this the life?! ;)
