This week as been my introduction into the Australian winter. On Monday it was very rainy all day. This was good because all I wanted to do was stay inside and work on my blog and homework. In the evening I got a break from class and school work by going to bible study. It was great to be apart of a bible study that had more people around my age in it.
Tuesday was a beautiful day during the day but I spent it all on doing more homework and GIS. In the evening I ended up being stuck in Sherwood dorms because of the the hail storm that came through.
Jesse Mitchell put this picture up on Facebook and it ended up being picked up my Destination Warrnambool. The title "Hail Men."
It was a crazy storm and the hail covered the ground like snow. Luckily, this is the closest we will come to having snow.
Wednesday was also a full day of homework and classes. I also completed my GIS! That was my main goal so that I could go to the races on Thursday.
Race Day
I got up early to do my hair before class, so that we could leave right after. I looked pretty ridiculous in class because my hair was nice and I was wearing running short and a jacket. I got some weird looks, but then everyone realised it was May Races. Before we headed down to the track we took some nice photos.
And goofy ones!
Then we headed to the race track.
Then we headed to the race track.
We arrived just in time to see a steeple chase event. Then we had a half an hour break before the next race so we walked around a bit. A gentleman stopped us and asked us if the four of us would like to enter in a competition for "best dressed group." We said why not...
Then we went back to the rails and watched the next race. Then it was time for the big afternoon race. The guys and I went and picked a horse to get into the spirit of the races.
The horses going to the gates...
And they are off!
The winning horse...
All of us came back to uni and relaxed. I had few hours before Lindsey's birthday party so I made dinner and talked with my housemates. I was pretty tired from the week so it was an early night for me.
