Welcome to Australia

Saturday October 25th, 2014

I was up before 7am to start getting ready to meet Dad and Grandpa at the airport. Ben and I arrived early and had some breakfast. We were waiting by the gate for when their plane arrive. I talked to two couples from the US right before Dad and Grandpa were supposed to land. I waited and waited but they did not get off the plane. I was very confused and waited awhile longer. Then when they were not at baggage claim, I called mom. Ellie told me their flight was delayed. So I went back through security to talk to some flight staff. They couldn't tell me if they were on the next plane but she strongly suggested that I wait for them at that gate. Then 30 minutes later they arrived.

Needless to say I was very relieved to see them. After getting their bags we started the final leg back to Warrnambool. We stopped in Geelong for food. Grandpa and I had McDonalds. It was a beautiful drive back to Warrnambool. After we got back, Grandpa and Dad got into the apartment attached to my dorm and got cleaned up. I showed them around campus a bit, both the flora and the fauna.

 Black cockatoos

Before dinner we went to Dan Murphy's for wine tasting and to meet Barry. Dad and Grandpa seemed to enjoy it!

 So Focused

For dinner we headed to my favorite restaurant in Warrnambool... the Reunion. Dad didn't get it until I explained to him the irony as well. It was a great dinner. My friend Josh is a chef there as well and came out and said hi to everyone.

Before heading back to uni, I had to show them the ocean. We went to the breakwater for a sneak peak.

I make really funny faces... a lot.

Middle Island... where the penguins live!

When we got back to uni, Dad and Grandpa were already falling asleep. They attempted to stay up and watch some TV but that last all of 15 mins. I convinced Dad to go to sleep and then I left the apartment. I headed over to K3 to hang out with Chris, Anthony, Jacinta, Azra and Jackie. It was a good way to unwind after a long day, but good day.
