The Calm before the Finals

Saturday October 11th, 2014

It was a very relaxed Saturday. I woke up in the morning and cleaned up my room and packed a few more things. I had the start of a cold so I just wanted to relax before my practice with Ben and Heidi. We had the church concert in the evening so there was a set up time in the afternoon. I began studying a little bit before Ben picked me up. When we go to the church we let the other groups practice and I studied some more. Practice went pretty well. When I got back to uni  I had just enough time to make dinner and get ready. Making dinner in our house is always a good time. Chris, Jackie, Lauren, and I were giving each other a hard time.

Then it was time for the concert. Chris, Anthony, and Jackie all came to watch. The first act was Steve playing the didgeridoo.

All the performances went very well. It was great to see so many different people perform. We also got snacks afterwards too. Back at uni we all relaxed and watched a movie.

Sunday

Church was at 11am so I got to sleep in. The service was very nice and afterwards I talked to Trevor for awhile. One thing I love about meeting all these new people is hearing their life stories! Everyone had already gone to the beach by the time I got home. It wasn't very warm outside so I decided to stay home and rest. I had another full blown cold again. I did talk to my mom for a couple of hours. That was really great to talk to her. I studied for a bit before Josh came and picked me up. I was going to Beck's house for the evening!!! Minion, Ellora, had her puppies over for a play date, so I got to cuddle all the dogs.

And then I got to play with Pearl a little bit before she got a shower.

Josh and I headed to the shops to get stuff for dinner. I bought 4L of orange juice to help me with my cold. I got Josh on a Mexican kick. He was making burritos for dinner. I sent everyone a snapchat of my enchiladas and now Beck, Josh, and Ellora want to try them, so I will have to make them for them before I leave. We had dinner, dessert and a movie. It was a fun night, even if Louie was being a very stinky dog.

Monday

Hardcore study day. I got up in the morning and talked to Eric and my dad before starting to study. I studied all day until dinner time. It was bad weather outside so that helped to keep me motivated about studying. Alex came and picked Azra and I up for small group. We were meeting at the Royal for dinner and then having the bible study at Sonia's house afterwards. I wrote a bible study and led the bible study. It went very well and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The rest of the evening I just relaxed.

Tuesday

Another study day. It was another cold day outside. After a few hours of studying in the morning I couldn't handle it anymore. I had to get away from it, so Chris and I went to the gym. It was good to get a good workout in. When I got back I showered and ate lunch. Just as I was about to start studying again Chris and Anthony knocked on my window. They asked what I was doing. I was about to study but I was watching a super cute animal video. They laughed at me and asked if I could give them a hand putting the net back up on the basketball hoop. All the Australians walking by must have thought we were crazy. I was sitting on Chris's shoulders stringing the net back up. I stuck around a shot some hoops before we headed back. I showed the boys videos of fistball because they are going to come to an Australian fistball get-together over the weekend. Then it was back to studying. I studied for a few more hours taking a break to eat dinner. I felt pretty confident about it at 9pm (more like I was sick of it) so I crashed the movie night in K3. I made popcorn for them too. It was a productive but semi boring day.
