Finally, the Final Finals

Wednesday October 15th, 2014

I really dislike having afternoon exams. My exam didn't start until 4:30pm. I woke up at 8:30am. I went through all my emails and then I called Eric. I talked to him and his family for awhile before he had to go. Then I started to working on my blog and attempted to tune Chris's guitar before lunch. I was trying to just stay relaxed before my exam. I studied a little bit before walking over to the examination building. Some of my classmates and I sat outside in the sun before the exam. The exam went really well. I smashed it! I was very relieved and hyper afterwards. I was super disappointed to find out that I had missed the mum and baby koala climbing the tree while I was in my exam. Chris Hoffman was able to get some good photos!!

Tall Chris also got an amazing video of them climbing!

I got to see them too, but the baby was sleeping and the mum was keeping a close eye on us.

We had planned to go to the beach to watch the sunset and hopefully see the stars. We ended up watching the storms roll in. It was ominous but beautiful.

I walked around on the beach for awhile but then I just sat and watched the storms and sunset with Josh. We watched the boys find more treasure too. Chris found a jellyfish... a Portuguese man of war baby. This is treasure for marine biologists.

Once it started to get colder we decided to go watch Josh's basketball game. It was a good game except the girlfriends of the other team were running the table and gave the opposing team extra points to win. The commentary from the bench (Chris and Anthony) was pretty good though. After the game I went home with Josh to watch X-men with Beck. I was so happy to have fun after waiting all day for an exam.

Thursday

One of the first things I did after I woke up was to see if the koalas were still in the tree. They were but you couldn't see them very well. Then I went to check my emails and a bird flew into my window. I was very happy I didn't scream because I would have woken up the whole house. The rest of the morning was pretty uneventful. In the afternoon, I got to pick up my camera and then we went to the shops. As soon as I got back I tried the camera out and got another good photo of the koalas.

We all went out to eat at Images for Ashley. She is leaving for home on Saturday. It was a fun dinner.

 Hehehe

 Beautiful sunset

After dinner I spent the rest of the night packing and doing laundry. I am trying to get everything organised before I head off to Melbourne to visit Nick and meet my Dad and Grandpa at the airport.

Friday

The morning started off with finishing up laundry. Then I studied out in the sun for few hours. Then I needed a break it was too nice outside to not enjoy it! I went on a walk to look at all the flowers. I have learned that they are the reason for my allergies. Anthony also walked around with me too.

We thought it would be fuzzy... it wasn't

It was a very beautiful day. My nose and I were very itchy after the walk but it was still fun. The rest of the evening I relaxed.

Saturday- Fistball day!

I got up early in the morning to start getting ready for our trip to Geelong. I ended up chatting with Lianna for awhile too. After we all had made our peanut butter and jam sandwiches we were on the road to Geelong. Alex offered to drive Chris, Anthony, Azra, and myself. They had never heard of fistball before so I was excited to introduce it to them. We had a lot of laughs on the way there. It was fun. When we finally got to the Deakin- Geelong campus we were sure where it would be until I spotted the line being set up. We introduced ourselves to the people that were already there and then I started explaining everything to my friends. Eventually Mal came and introduced himself. He was the person I was talking to to figure out when I could come and play. He was just as friendly in person! Then we got some games going! There was a mix of players and people learning it for the first time. It was very laid back and a lot of fun. During one of the breaks I met Mal's wife and daughter, Bonnie. The babies were fascinated by tall Chris. He must have looked like a giant to them, and as soon as he sat down they both crawled over to him and started to climb. It was very cute. Mal's wife also made the comment that my birthmark looks like Australia. I laughed and said "I guess I was always meant to come to Australia." We played 3 full games and talked in between. It felt like one big family and we were instantaneous members. I had a great time! I wish I could have been able to visit them more while I was here.

Let's just say it was a quiet ride home....

After we got home we ate dinner and then just relaxed for a bit. Then Beck took us out to the movies. It was a fun day and night! Tomorrow will be church and studying.

Sunday

Alex came and picked me up for church shortly before 9. It was just a reading service so it went fast but then I stayed and talked to a bunch of people afterwards. When I got home I talked to Eric while I waited for Bri to come around. She was getting baptised and she asked if I would come and support her. It was a very chilly day.

We I got back to uni I started to study with Jackie and Azra. It didn't last long though. Beck wanted to hang out so she came around and sat with us for awhile. I felt pretty confident about the material so Beck and I talked awhile before picking up Josh and heading back to her house to watch a scary movie. It wasn't too scary, then we watched a little bit of Housos ( An Australian movie). It didn't last long before Beck took me back home to get some sleep.

Monday

I got up at 9 to take care of some things before I started to do my final review. The exam was at 1 and I was super excited. It was my final final!! We walked over to the testing room at 12:30 and we sat outside the building in the sun just before we were able to be let in. By 2:30 I was out of the exam. I felt like I did very well. After the exam, I was extremely happy and excited. I FINISHED MY UNDERGRAD!! I had put a bottle of wine in the frig before heading to the exam so once I got back I had a glass and relaxed. I called Beck to tell her. I asked if she wouldn't mind dropping us off at the beach to just have some fun. She said sure and it was low tide so we went to Shelly beach to explore the rock pools! Josh met us out there because he had never been there before.

 Overlooking Warrnambool

After we got back to uni we cleaned up and then Chris and Anthony made fish for dinner. We went to go celebrate with Chris Hoffman. It was his last night in Australia.

Afterwards, I had a sleep over at Beck's! It was a great way to celebrate being done with my undergraduate career!
