Sunshine Weekend

Saturday September 6th, 2014

The morning started off with an 18km run. Chris and I did our last big run before the half marathon. We ran to the breakwall and back. It was a beautiful morning! I finished it in under two hours so I was happy with that especially for still being sick. After we got back, Lauren took us back down to the beach so we could ice our legs in the ocean. It felt good but it was super cold!

As soon as we got back, I ate lunch. I was hungry. Then in was nap time. I set up outside in the sun where is was nice a warm. I stayed out there all afternoon. Will came over to have a chat with Jackie and I before we headed in. It was a girls night at the Crofts! Ben graciously cooked or us and Azra, Bettina, Sonia and I finished up watching the swimming. We also planned our trip to Melbourne. I crashed as soon as I got home.

Sunday

I was up early for church. I was doing the reading so I practiced a couple times after I got ready. The service went very well. Afterwards, I went out to get hot chocolate with the Crofts. It was Father's Day in Australia so they invited me along for lunch. We had to kill some time so we headed down to the breakwall to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Lunch was very good but I was almost too full to eat dessert. It took Ben, Bettina, and I to polish off this wonderful Tim Tam cheesecake.

I needed a nap after that big lunch. Chris, Jackie, and I (eventually Lauren) headed outside and relaxed in the sun.

It was Eric's and my anniversary. I got his package a couple days before. He send me bright pink shorts to wear for my race in a week and all the American essentials (oreos and graham crackers). It was my very first package from home!

My Aussie friends have never tried graham crackers before so I got them out when the K1 gang came over. Brianna had an allergic reaction to them! I felt so bad. She is alright. Her lips just swelled up.

We ran to the shops quick before coming back and having dinner. Then we relaxed a bit before doing our NFL fantasy football draft. The rest of the night was devoted to homework.
