No Rest for the Uni Kid

Monday August 25th, 2014

I slept in for a little bit to try and catch up from the weekend. As soon as I was up I was working. I had an exam on Wednesday to study for. I didn't have class, so I was able to get a lot of studying done and I began looking for literature for another assignment. Late in the afternoon Chris and I went for our run. In the evening Azra and I went to Pot and Parma with Beck and Minion (Ellora). It was a relaxing dinner with friends. Then we had small group. It was great! We had a good study and we were able to forget about all the stress for a couple hours.

I headed to bed early to get ready for another big day of studying.

Azra, Chris, and I left early in the morning for a long run to the whale watching platform. It was a good run and as soon as we got there I saw a whale. I was amazed because we haven't seen them for two weeks. It was just a calf playing around for 10 minutes. I started to get worried because I didn't see the mom but right before we left she surfaced along side her calf. When I saw that I was ready to run back home.

When we got back we headed to the library to study until lunch. Then after lunch we studied some more until had class. Then after class... I worked on vet school applications to change it up. I did have a little break to climb up on the roof and try an get a picture of the beautiful sunset. Unfortunately, the trees were in the way.

Azra and I had a dinner to go to with Ben and his friend Hannah. We had met her the night before at small group.  It was a nice night getting to know her better. The dinner and dessert were delicious.

Then it was back to studying before heading to bed.

The morning started off with free breakfast from DUSA. Then we headed over to lab. We were dissecting another fish for our Diversity of Fishes class. We also had an analyse scales and otoliths to determine the age of the fish.

After lab, I had my exam. I studied a little before hand but I also talked to Eric. My exam went very well I thought. I was frustrated with everyone being grumpy and stressed on campus so Beck rescued me. Beck, Josh, and I played with the animals and headed to the store to get the ingredients to make dinner. Josh made burritos. I was skeptical... but he did a good job. We spent the rest of the night venting, talking, and relaxing. It was a great to not think about school for a few hours.

Thursday August 28, 2014

I was up bright and early for my classes. Luckily, in my first class we got to watch a very interesting movie about fish. It started the full-on day on a good vibe. When lunchtime came along, Lauren, Jackie and I went on a date for lunch.

It was absolutely beautiful outside! We ran into town to pick up some things for the Geelong Cats game we were going to before heading back to class. It was a long afternoon of classes, but once I got done. I went to my room and relaxed in the sun. I started working on homework again after dinner. Josh and I hit the gym at 9 and I was tired when I got home so I went to sleep.
